The marathon was a “Knock out”!

The pictures speak volumes of the Rang De participation in the Sunfeast 10K marathon event at Bangalore on the 31st may 2009

The Rang De marathon theme aptly said it all — “Let us knock out poverty”. And in our very own small unique way, Rang De participants made themselves heard among the thousands that participated on the day of the run.

Two of our social investors, Harsh Thakkar and Vikram ran the 10 km distance in less than an hour. The rest of us spent more energy on creating awareness of the Rang De movement and managed to finish half marathon too!

Unlike other NGOs, Rang De was raising social investments as against donations. The marathon had all the participants charged up and that resulted in a fifty plus new social investors joining the Rang De community!

After the run, Nikhil, our Senior Manager opined that even though he walked the 5 km of the marathon, he felt victorious against adversity and triumphant against the challenge of poverty. He felt that he had lived the mantra of Rang De that day — Work hard, have fun!

Another participant, Bhavna says that Rang De and the Sunfeast marathon has showed her the power of unity and she experienced the coming together of people, at one place for a common cause.
