If last time it was the arrival of the VIPs that caused a scare at the Rang De concert (Read Rang De Oxygen Concert), this time it was the signs and symptoms of an impending cyclone. It is almost certain now that every Rang De event is bound to be filled it with the last minute adrenalin rush. The constant drizzle from the previous night got us thinking about change in the venue but to even think of this on the day of the concert was a nightmare. After a quick assessment of the amphitheatre, we decided to cross our fingers, offer prayers to the rain Gods and go ahead with it. And lo, the Gods did respond and they did so positively. Around noon, the sky started to brighten up and left up our spirits. We went ahead with all the preps, spruced up the amphi theatre — the venue looked beautiful and was ready to receive the beautiful celebrity Waheeda Rehman and all the Rang De enthusiasts. We were so bogged down with preparations that we forgot to have lunch and dinner.

Smita and Waheedaji share a few words during the concert. We thank Waheedaji for coming to the concert.

Swarathma touched the audiences with their soulful music and in the end had the audience shake their inertia and stand on their feet. The concert also had a small dance by mime artists on how Rang De works. The concert also had the presidents of Rang De Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi Chapters joining hands and even meeting for the first time.

The concert ended on a high note with everyone right from Rang De team member to audience to Ms. Waheeda Rehman was immensely satisfied for being part of Rang De’s cause.

Special thanks to our Chennai Chapter Members and all our event partners for their support.
