Rang De on the streets!

By Rang De Team

The last weekend, Rang De attempted something different. The Rang De team took to the streets. Literally!

The month that went by has seen a lull in the number of active social investors. Someone had to do something about increasing the investments. And something is what we did!

To raise the consciousness of society about the opportunities in micro investments, we pledged a few hours of Sunday last to talk to people at a local railway station and a mall! We aimed at making people stop and think about how they can make a difference.

We realize that it is about changing peoples’ attitudes, altering the way people think and urging people to save a family from the cycle of poverty, to hold hands and lead them to to take the big first step towards micro loans.

We plan to do this at every opportunity we get. The idea is to develop a critical mass of concerned citizens, and to inspire a desire in people around Chennai to seriously work towards improving the way needy people live.

We sincerely hope that the sensitization effort will have a positive impact and will begin to show benefits in the form of more social investors that will join Rang De; more people who will want to share the colours of joy.

While it is still too early to say if such efforts will be successful, the signs are promising. Everyone matters. Every contribution is valuable. At the end of day we realized that it was not just a day of awareness, but a movement to end poverty as a whole.

The plus side? It turned out to be a cost effective team building activity and also an evaluation of our sales skills!

Watch out for us in your neighbourhood!
