Field partners- New and Old!

By Rang De Team

Join us in welcoming another field partner that joined hands with Rang De recently.

We have a new representation in West Bengal. The Sripur Swami Vivekananda Welfare Society which has been working towards the social economic and cultural development of the neglected sections of the society in the State, will be our field partner at West Bengal. The Welfare society has largely been working with deprived women, providing them with micro-finance opportunities and technical expertise.

Another partner in Orissa that has worked closely with Rang De is Gram Utthan that has been running developmental programs in the state since 1990. The vision of Gram Utthan “striving to liberate the rural poor from chronic poverty” is in perfect alignment with what Rang De believes in.

For our borrowers from Orissa, we have brought down the minimum loan amounts to Rs. 1000 against our norm of Rs. 5000. Rang De with the able guidance of Gram Utthan has reached out to the poorest of the poor who are also first time borrowers. With this initiative Rang De hopes to encourage all our field partners to reach out to people who have never had access to micro credit before.

Rang De is eying new horizons and will include the State of Assam in the next few months. And the new Rang De Chapter at Kolkata and Chennai will soon commence! Looks like 2009 is ending in a good note and Year 2010 is already off to a good start for Rang De!

After 11 years of operations, Rang De is now taking a massive leap forward with our brand new peer-to-peer lending platform Check it out.
