When entrepreneurs and start ups, researchers in academia and industry, adopters of new technology and products, and investors got together at Bangalore the last weekend, Rang De was there too!
Rang De is a part of the “innovation ecosystem”, in the social innovation space. That is how we came to be part of the HeadStart 2009. The HeadStart Network is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers and full time professionals to create and promote the innovation ecosystem in India.
The two day affair brought together all the stakeholders of the innovation ecosystem at one place for showcasing innovation and networking.
For Rang De it was a first time opportunity to be at the event with a big team! Everything from setting up the stall to getting researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and others to visit our stall was team effort! It was good to connect with some of our well wishers who knew of us and an excellent opportunity to make new connections. The number of Social Investors on Rang De grew too — a few maiden investors made their first investment!
The agenda was enriched with keynote addresses by eminent technologists and entrepreneurs, live demos of new products, panel discussions, technology tutorials, investor meetings and talks by corporate adopters of technology.
The Rang De team interacted with other start ups and entrepreneurs. It provided a learning platform for the team who took a few quick lessons in innovation in consumer services and optimizing the use of energy by green computing and clean technology.
What turned out to be spectacular for Rang De was how the corporate participants were keen to learn how inclusive business models can be built. They were clearly excited with how Rang De dares rural India to dream and make it happen. They understood that we were not changing the whole world but certainly making a difference to a few families.
They saw how the Rang De cause was low risk on the wallet and guaranteed high returns to the hearts.
Rang De aims at energizing a generation of people to think that way!
